Judo and Ju Jitsu club “Stara Varoš“ – Podgorica were founded in September 2009. By Mladen Jokmanovic, as a coach and still active and successful competitor. The goal was to create a modern, new type of club with professional attitude towards its members and with a primary aim to form a healthy individual athlete who will eventually become a better member of the community by perfecting himself/herself by training martial arts.
Today our club gathers a significant number of members, majority being kids. We can proudly emphasize that our members won big number of medals at the national and international competitions both in Judo and Ju jitsu. For the last two years our quality and efforts were recognized by Volcano Company which is our sponsor so at the competitions you can see us participation as “Stara Varos – Volcano“.
We function as a family, providing our members the opportunity to compete in both Judo and Ju Jitsu at the same time or just to specialize for one sport as the time passes by. We have members aging from 5 to 55 years old, opened for males and females, all races and nationalities, athletes or just people who love our sports and went to be fit and ready and learn how to defend themselves. We strive to create a complete, multi-dimensional fighter, to teach efficient self defense, judo and ju jitsu with a healthy body and spirit and attitude.
Coaches:
- Mladen Jokmanovic – Judo master 5. DAN black belt. Ju jitsu master 3.DAN black belt. Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt instructor and certified strength and conditioning coach for fighters.
